How exciting that Elise is moving more on her own! You're right that this is the end of the "plunk the baby down - she can't get too far". But so much fun to watch them start to walk. Be prepared for bumps and bruises! And Happy 1st Birthday to Elise this weekend! Doing anything special?

Welcome to the minivan club. They really are handy for hauling baby gear and other stuff. I have heard good things about the Toyota Sienna. A friend from mom/tot classes is planning to trade in her car for either a minivan or SUV -- can't quite see herself in a minivan yet. I did make Rob drive ours for the first 6 months until Melinda was born, but now I feel like a mom.

Thought we were making progress with Melinda's "big girl" bed today. She looked pretty cozy up there reading stories with me befoe her nap, so I left her up there and left the room. Turned on the monitor and heard a little rustling, but no fussing. So I peeked in -- and found her pulling socks and baby wipes out of her dresser, with a big smile on her face! Playing in the sock drawer is OK, but not in lieu of napping, so back into the Pack N Play she went.

Everybody have a good weekend! Tracey

P.S. Rob made our car reservation for New England. One week + one extra day with National came to $286, including some $56 in taxes!! Ouch! But we can get a full size car at that price.
